Here’s the complete event information for the Swiss 4x G/25 d5 chess tournament:

  • The Swiss 4x G/25 d5 will feature 4 rounds, with each game giving you 25 minutes and a 5-second delay per move. It’s a great opportunity to test your skills and think fast! Whether you’re an experienced player or just love a good challenge, this tournament promises fun and competitive chess for everyone.

Important Tournament Details:

  • This is a USCF-rated tournament.
  • All players must have a US Chess (USCF) ID to participate.
  • Prize Fund: $350 (based on 40 total entries).
  • The tournament has two sections:
  1. Under 1000 USCF-rated
  2. 1000+ USCF-rated Note: Small sections may be merged (prizes will be combined, and the play-up fee will be refunded).

Key Rules and Guidelines:

  • Players will be placed in sections based on their published USChess rating supplement.
  • Players may choose to play up to a higher section for a fee of $5, but must be within 300 points of the rating cutoff, and within 200 points for the highest section. Double play-up is not allowed.
  • Players who withdraw during the tournament are not eligible for prize money.

Registration Information:

  • Online Registration closes at midnight on the day of the tournament.
  • A late fee applies if you register a day before the tournament.
  • Onsite registration is available, subject to space, with an additional onsite fee.
